We are happy to welcome Ms. Hanna M. Wenzel, a third-year PhD student from Marburg University (Germany) to the Stellhorn Lab at the Co-Creation Institute for Advanced Materials.

Hanna will be joining us as a guest researcher for five months. Hanna comes from the Pilgrim Lab, a physical-chemical laboratory specializing in the structural analysis of amorphous matter.
Her previous research focused on the structure of amorphous molecular systems, particularly hetero-adamantane molecules with intriguing nonlinear optical properties (DFG, FOR2824).
She employs Reverse Monte Carlo simulations in combination with experimental diffraction and spectroscopy techniques (XRD, ND, EXAFS) to model the amorphous arrangements of these molecules.

During her stay at Stellhorn Lab, Hanna will contribute to the Hyperuniform Aperiodic Materials project (JSPS Transformative Research Areas B initiative).
