On November 28-29, we successfully held the 'Multi-Spectral Radiation Analysis for Materials Innovation Symposium' at Kunibiki Messe

公開日 2025.12.12

This symposium invites leading researchers from both Japan and abroad to broadly, and present research results on the analysis and evaluation of materials based on the history and traditions of the Shimane region, using the various world-leading Multi-Spectral Radiation measurement technologies available at our university.
The symposium fostered active exchange of opinions on interdisciplinary materials analysis technologies at the most advanced multi-spectral radiation of the world, ranging not only from our university's strength in the field of metallic materials, but also to the analysis of bronze and earthenware artifacts, which are part of Izumo's history, as well as to the analysis of living cells in biomedical and pharmaceutical fields from biomaterials.
The symposium had simultaneous interpretation, was live streamed online in addition to being held in person, and had over 220 participants from around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, India, and China.

A poster session by domestic young researchers and students was also held, providing a valuable opportunity for them to discuss with world-class researchers.
Two young researchers and three students were awarded Outstanding Poster Presentation Awards.
At the dinner, the Gotsu-shi Namiko Kagura Group performed a powerful Iwami Kagura dance called 'Orochi,' allowing participants to fully enjoy Shimane's traditional culture.
On the final day, tours were conducted to historical sites in Shimane Prefecture related to the research content, such as Izumo Taisha Shrine and the Sugaya Tatara, giving participants a deep appreciation for research rooted in the history and culture of a regional university.

This symposium was held with the support of the Japan Tourism Agency's "Program to Promote Regional and University Collaboration for the Development of Future International Conference Organizers," co-hosted by our university, Shimane Prefecture, and the Matsue Convention Bureau.
We sincerely thank many people, including Matsue City, the Shimane Prefectural Center for Industrial Technology, and Proterial, Ltd., for their cooperation.
Our university will continue to host international symposia that serve as a global platform for information dissemination, leveraging the characteristics of a regional university, so please look forward to them.
